The First Person Linux Kernel Maintainer Verification Project at LF Member Summit 2026
Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 1:40–2:50 PM PST
Location: Silverado East

At the LF Member Summit 2026, this session examines the First Person Project, introduced to address maintainer identity and trust challenges in the open source supply chain, with initial deployment in the Linux kernel.

LFDT Executive Director Daniela Barbosa joins Linux kernel maintainer Greg Kroah-Hartman and Affinidi CEO Glenn Gore to explain how First Person credentials are being implemented to replace the Linux kernel’s legacy GPG web-of-trust with a modern digital wallet architecture. The discussion references open standards developed at W3C and work emerging from LF Decentralized Trust communities, and demonstrates verifiable relationship credentials in practice.
