Type: Token infrastructure software

Panurus is a framework for building token-based applications on permissioned blockchains. It provides reusable infrastructure for issuing, transferring, and redeeming fungible and non-fungible tokens, with configurable privacy levels from cleartext tokens with X.509 identities to zero-knowledge tokens using Pedersen commitments and Idemix for owner anonymity. An auditor service gives authorized parties transaction visibility for regulatory oversight. A driver-based architecture decouples token logic from the underlying ledger, with support for Hyperledger Fabric and Fabric-X and a development path toward EVM-compatible chains. Panurus evolved from the Fabric Token SDK, an LFDT lab, and has served as the token management layer in wholesale CBDC experiments run by the Banque de France and the Bank of Canada.
